Alan S. Inouye is senior director of public policy & government relations and interim associate executive director for the American Library Association. Previously, he was a coordinator of the President’s Council of Advisors of Science and Technology, Executive Office of the President and a study director at the National Academy of Sciences. Alan completed his Ph.D. in library and information studies at the University of California at Berkeley. Early in his career, he was an engineer and manager in Silicon Valley.
