John Murphy graduated Cum Laude from Florida Coastal School of Law where he served as the Research and Writing Editor of the Law Review and passed the Florida Bar in 2012. He then earned his MLIS from Florida State University. John practiced law in Florida before moving to his library career in 2016 at a prison library in Michigan. He moved to his current posiiton as the Director of the Anoka County Law Library in 2016. While in that position, he has served as President of both the Metro Coalition of County Law Libraries and the Minnesota Association of Law Libraries. In 2019, the state legal newspaper awarded him as one of the states Unsung Legal Heroes.
