Jessica Whytock is the Associate Dean of the Law Library and Strategic Planning, and Research Professor of Law at the University of California, Irvine School of Law. In administering the library, she sets library priorities, creates budgets, understands university policies and practices, monitors library trends, creates and updates library policies, submits annual reports, engages in strategic planning, resolves personnel matters, and ensures the library meets the research and resource needs of the entire law school community. She is a member of the law school’s Senior Administrative Team and contributes to the team’s deliberations. As a faculty member, she teaches a legal research class and serves on multiple law school committees. In her Strategic Planning role, Dean Whytock helps determine which new projects and initiatives the law school should pursue, how to implement them, and the stakeholders involved. Before joining UCI in 2009, Dean Whytock served as the Head of Research Services at the USC Gould School of Law Library. She earned her BA, MLIS, and JD from Indiana University.
