Planning Welcoming Spaces with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Mind

This one-hour panel session will provide an opportunity for librarians at any stage of their career and at any law library type to acquire skills to foster DEI in existing or new spaces including library spaces and adjacent meeting and office spaces.

Target Audience:

Any annual meeting attendee will benefit from this program. This is relevant to all library types and all members.

Takeaways:

  • Participants will be able to understand and articulate how physical space and the library's digital resources comprise an integrated ecosystem that should be considered holistically in understanding DEI and other elements of the library.
  • Participants will be able to assess their existing law library spaces and develop a concrete action plan to improve them with DEI considerations in mind.
  • Participants will be able to apply the skills learned to planning new spaces with DEI considerations in mind.
